Hi! My name is Ellita T. Williams, PhD and I am the Creator and Founder of Sugar Estate Beauty. I am currently based in Chicago, IL via St. Thomas, USVI and Miami, FL. I’ve spent pivotal life moments in Orlando, FL, Seattle, WA, and Pittsburgh, PA and as a result I’ve cultivated beauty routines and quirks from across the United States!

What’s In a Name?

The sweetest parts of my life came from the time I have spent with my granny, Henrietta. My granny lived in a neighborhood in “town” in St. Thomas, the US Virgin Islands called Sugar Estate. I was also born in Sugar Estate and thanks to people like my granny, I have never forgotten my culture. Although she has passed on now, I would describe my grandmother’s style sense as minimalist, practical, and elegant. To me, she represents joy, love, beauty, and spirit. Therefore, I named the business Sugar Estate Beauty as an ode to my birthplace, my culture, and to my dear granny, whose love left an indelible mark on my heart.

Origin

I started this business because I wanted a no non-sense approach to finding a make-up brush and, well… I was having a hard time. Do I need a cosmetology license to find the makeup brushes I needed? I asked myself, “who else might have this problem?” I know I can’t be the only person who is busy but wanted the right tools. Like you, I spend top dollar on make up products and I know the product is only as good as the tools used apply them with. Enter Sugar Estate Beauty.
